The Waiting Game A few more weeks until I get the CD's in the mail. However, Grosh Guitars finally sent me some screws for the pickups. The building of the Frankenstrat is back on! More details to come soon. Wiring the FrankenStrat Guitar just got wired last night. My buddy Ed McMenimon from Road Soda did it to pay off a previous gambling debt we had between us. Last year when Manny Ramirez got traded from the Red Sox, I bet him a case of beer that Manny would go on a tear and have better numbers than Jason Bay. We decided to settle it this way instead! Guitar Fetish Parts I just ordered some parts from Guitar Fetish. They sell great cheap parts for Fender and Gibson style guitars. I just bought a new bridge with a solid steel block, and some electronics for the FrankenStrat. I went with 500K pots instead of the normal 250K so I would have more a control over volume and what not. This thing is going to be killer! Grosh Pickups Well, I just bought some pickups for the guitar. I just bought the Don Grosh 60's Fat set. I have heard these pickups in a Don Grosh Retro Classic before and they sounded unbelievable! I'm very excited. I'm going to try to get the rest of the hardware together this week and start putting this thing together. Building the FrankenStrat
Hey everybody. Well, I have some time off while the album is being polished off, so I decided to do something I have wanted to do for a long time: beef up my terrible Korean strat into something pretty neat. The first thing I decided to do was replace the body. I picked up this alder strat body with a sage green finish off of Ebay for $126.
